Impressionists and the Palace Legion of Honor

For me, there’s nothing better than spending a weekend afternoon at the museum, and my favorite one in San Francisco is the Palace Legion of Honor.  It’s this gorgeous, neo-classical spot out by Sea Cliff with views of the bridge and water.  It’s one of those places that never gets old.  I love stopping at their museum cafe for a little bite in between the galleries.  This past weekend, I finally saw the Impressionists exhibit – note to self, try to get to these things before closing weekend.  It was a pretty, little show that made me think how much modern wedding photography is influenced by the impressionists.  The colors are soft, the focus is soft, there are paintings of details and of scenes.  It’s funny how what’s old remains modern sometimes.
