Apologies for the lack of posting last week. It was my birthday week (yes, I take a week not a day) & I was a tad preoccupied having dinner all about town all week long. It definitely made getting another year older a lot easier! To keep the party going, I went to LA last weekend to catch up with some friends there & had a mah-va-lous time! I stayed at Mr. C’s in Beverley Hills — quite a posh place, all done up in Hollywood Recency style. I wish I could claim I knew ahead of time that it would be a fun place to stay that would feel completely glamorous, but I had no idea and just got a deal on expedia. I’d highly recommend it — there’s quite an LA scene at the pool during the day, and at night, the place is just glittery. Sunday, I brunched at the famous place “The Ivy” in West Hollywood. I have read about the place in the tabloids for years and always wanted to go. It was really a charming spot — pretty rose bouquets at every table and garden pillows. It’s the kind of setting I could have stayed in all day. As usual, I didn’t spot a star while I was there (I really think I could be sitting next to one and not notice though) but I had a great time catching a few rays and getting out of the fog for a few seconds.
PS – I have been playing this song on repeat all weekend, because I love me a theme song . . .
