We’ve been busy shooting weddings this summer — more posts along those lines are coming soon, but here’s the first of a few. This gorgeous wedding took place at Ralston Hall in Belmont, CA. The location was stunning — it was built around the turn of the century by a shipping captain, and the furniture and fixtures were all original to the mansion. The ballroom had three giant chandeliers & there were little bits of crystal everywhere. The location was special for Melissa (the bride) as she went to High School on its campus (& coincidentally, as it turned out, so did I (such a tiny world it is), but, ahem . . . a few years before she did). Melissa & Casey met in college & have been together ever since — you might remember them from their e-session in Golden Gate Park where they ran into geese. No geese at the wedding, which is probably a good thing. Instead, they just had a ton of close family & friends. She chose pink as the color of the day (Casey went along with it, like the good guy that he is) & they had a sweet ceremony where they wrote their own vows. They surprised the guests with a choreographed dance to Thriller & Girls Just Wanna Have Fun (you know how much I love choreography at weddings) & everyone really seemed to have a great time. The venue manager was a doll — she just kept the party going and the food and drinks flowed all night. Here are a few of my favorites — I’m sure I’ll have some more to share in a bit.
