Okay, I live in San Francisco & can never get a cab to go anywhere on Friday or Saturday nights, so I was excited, yet skeptical, about this new service called “Uber” that purports to send a town car to you within 10 minutes of texting them. I tried it out this evening & OMG, this is a lifesaver/fabulous service. You just text your address (& I did this twice tonight) within 6 minutes, a town car was outside. They charge a bit more than a cab ($28 to go to the Mission from my house; normally $18 for me), but no aggravation/hassle/jumping in the street while freezing. Highly recommend. Here’s a link . . .
